In the first T20 against South Africa, Deepak Chahar and Arshdeep Singh crushed the Proteas' top order and restricted them to 106 runs. In reply to that, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav chased down the total and led India to a comfortable win.

The Punjab-based fast bowler Arshdeep Singh unleashed fire and scalped three crucial wickets for the Men in Blue in the initial overs of the game. However, India suffered a huge blow when Bumrah sustained a back injury and is ruled out from the ongoing series. He is currently under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team. Mohd. Siraj replaced the injured Jasprit Bumrah for the remainder of the T20I series against South Africa, the BCCI announced on Friday.
Earlier, just before the first T20 match against South Africa, Jasprit Bumrah complained of back pain and had been ruled out of the match at Thiruvananthapuram. Bumrah also missed the Asia Cup due to his back problem and he made a comeback in the last two T20Is against Australia. Team India will be looking to continue their winning run as they have an opportunity to seal the series by beating the visitors in the second T20I, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead.
