FC Barcelona Beat BSC Young Boys: Hansi Flick records maiden UCL win as FC Barcelona manager, as the Blaugrana have defeated BSC Young Boys 5-0. Brace from star striker Robert Lewandowski and goals from Raphinha, Inigo Martinez and an own goal were enough to seal the deal for the home side, as they have successfully responded back in the continental competition after their 2-1 defeat to AS Monaco in the opening fixture.

Raphinha was superb throughout the game and was awarded the Player of the Match, as the Brazilian registered a goal and an assist.

FC Barcelona were just too good for BSC Young Boys as a brilliant tiki-taka move from Laine Yamal and Raphinhab gave them the lead in the 8th minute via Robert Lewandowski's goal, which was followed by goals from Raphinha (34') and Inigo Martinez (37') to make it 3-0 at half-time.

The Swiss-side failed to produce anything productive and the only time they managed to breach the goal of the home side, the goal was ruled out for an offside.

At the full-time whistle, it ended 5-0 in favour of Blaugrana, as the massive win has boosted their Goal Difference to +4, which can be pivotal during the final stages of the league stage.

Head Coach Hansi Flick Delighted With Three Points; Lewandowski Hails 5-0 Win As 'Perfect Match' | WATCH

Hansi Flick emphasied on the importance of three points and added that the side gained confidence as goals followed-in.

"Nobody knows exactly how this new Champions League will work and what we'll need, but it's always good to get a good goal difference just in case. We needed these three points and deserved the 5-0 win. I'm very satisfied with the way we played. At first we were not so confident but after the first goal it was much easier ... We need to keep working game by game," said Flick.

"There is still a lot to do and we always try to offer our best performance. If the team stays as united as it has been until now, if we work hard, we can have a great season," he added.

Robert Lewandowski has opened his account for goals in UCL 2024/25 and stated, "Today was a perfect game. We did everything we wanted to do".
