Rubiales on the other hand stated that the kiss was mutual and with consent.
Earlier, Luis Rubiales the Spanish soccer federation president faced an emergency meeting that he will be resigning after kissing a Women's World Cup champion, Jenni Hermoso as per the report by The Associated Press. But now, the Spanish football federation is set to take legal action over Jenni Hermoso's comments about its president Luis Rubiales.
The 46-year-old Rubiales will not resign from his post after kissing Hermoso on the lips following Spain's Women's World Cup final win over England in Sydney. It was expected that Rubiales would be resigning from his post on Friday but then the federation came out with an attack against the accusers in a speech at a federation assembly.
On Friday, Hermoso said that she did not give consent but the federation has scrutinized her side of events.
"The evidence is conclusive," it said. "Mr President has not lied."
In a statement by the players' union Futpro which stands for the 33-year-old Hermoso, she said "In no case did I seek to raise (lift) the president" while they embraced on the podium. The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said: "The RFEF and Mr. President will demonstrate each of the lies that are spread either by someone on behalf of the player or, if applicable, by the player herself.
"The RFEF and the President, given the seriousness of the content of the press release from the Futpro union, will initiate the corresponding legal actions."
After Rubiales landed himself in a controversy, a lot of ministers of the Spain government including Acting Second Deputy Prime Minister Yolanda Diaz and Acting Culture and Sports Minister Miquel Iceta condemned the incident where Diaz went on to call for Rubiales’ resignation after the conscious attack on the football player.
Rubiales on the other hand stated that the kiss was mutual and with consent while taking part in a meeting of the Spanish football federation's general assembly on Friday.
