The result means the agonising wait for England's major international title since 1966 continues. Harry Kane would be gutted with the way it ended but given the way Spain had played throughout the competition they deserved to clinch the title. The last time Spain had lifted the Euros they had beaten Italy 4-0 in the final while the Three Lions only previous appearance in a final came in 2020.
