Newcastle United Need A Manchester City Win In FA Cup 2024 Final — Here's Why

FA Cup 2024 Final: A lot depends upon the FA Cup 2024 final as a spot for Europe next season is on the line for the Premier League sides. Here are the details. Read below.

FA Cup 2024 Final: Premier League outfits Newcastle United, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspurs and Chelsea are in dire need of respective results in the FA Cup 2024 final today. The final of the FA Cup between fierce city rivals Manchester City and Manchester United is set to be played at the Wembley Stadium in London on May 25, and the winner of the final will decide the fate of the European qualifications of the abovementioned four sides.

Qualification Scenario

  • In case of a Manchester City win: If Manchester City manages to retain their FA Cup title, it will mean that Manchester United (who finished 8th in the Premier League 2023/24 season) will miss out on European spot for the next season, as they failed to finish in the European qualification slots in the league season.
  • In case of a Manchester United win: If Manchester United win the FA Cup 2024 final, it will mean that Newcastle United (who finished 7th in the Premier League 2023/24 season) will be pipped by Manchester United in the last spot for the European qualification slots and Manchester United will make a huge leap by qualifying for the UEFA Europa League next season.

In either of the cases, Tottenham Hotspurs and Chelsea will maintain their European status and will be joined by either of Manchester United or Newcastle United. However, only Tottenham Hotspurs will retain their Europa League status irrespective of the result. Chelsea will be pushed down into the Europa Conference League in case of a Manchester United win.

Manchester City will be pushing for a Double this season. However, seeing the need of the hour and the desperation of salvaging some pride and save the shinking ship of the legacy of Manchester United, the Red Devils can potentially put out their best performance of the season, and the young lads of Manchester United will have to come in handy against the mighty Manchester City.
