Mexico Fan Stabbed During Gold Cup Match, Left With Blood Seeping Down His Chest In Chilling Incident
Violence broke out at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California as at least a dozen Mexico supporters were seen fighting among themselves post the country's 1-0 defeat to Qatar on Sunday.
In a shocking piece of incident, a Mexico fan was stabbed and left in critical condition after violence broke out in the stands during the team's CONCACAF Gold Cup clash with Qatar. Police are on the lookout for the suspect after the victim was left with blood pouring down his chest. Notably, violence broke out at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California as at least a dozen Mexico supporters were seen fighting among themselves post the country's 1-0 defeat to Qatar on Sunday.
In a viral video footage, a man can be seen approaching the brawl seemingly with a knife over his head. He even thrusts the object into the group of fans before he was taken down to the floor. However, as the fight continues the victim who was stabbed notices blood seeping down his chest. As per report, the injured man remains critical but is stable.
According to eye-witness quoted by a report in the Daily Mail, the brawl among Mexico fans lasted around 10 minutes. During this time, the fan tried to stop the bleeding as used water as well as his jersey to give himself first aid. Not only has a suspect been identified by the police but another person of interest has been shortlisted and the law enforcing officials are on the lookout for them.

The man who stabbed the group of fans has been described as a man aged between 25-35 with short, dark hair. He donned a thin mustache and beard. While he was last seen in a green Mexico jersey, he managed to run away after stabbing the fellow Mexico fan.The person of interest, meanwhile, was described as a woman with dark hair and wearing a similar Mexico jersey.
Santa Clara police has urged the public to contact them in case they recognise the suspect and not try to deal with them themselves.
