La Liga 2023-24: Real Madrid have dealt a huge blow in their title surge as they have dropped two vital points in Madrid Derby as the fixture ended 1-1. Slowly and gradually, the Madrid Derby is becoming THE DERBY of Spain as the quality and iconic moments produced by the fixture is continuously increasing, and given the fact that El Clasico now produces dull results, football fans are highly invested when city rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid clash.

Both the clubs have acquired loads of silverware past decade and are on path to do the same this season as well, as Real Madrid have already won the Supercopa De Espana (Spanish Super Cup), whereas Atletico Madrid ended Real Madrid's Copa Del Ray defence run by defeating them 4-2 on January 19, and then further ousted cup specialists Sevilla. With FC Barcelona too out of the competition, chances are almost up to cent percent for the 'Rojablancos' to grab the cup.

One such iconic moment came in the Sunday's fixture when Real were leading 1-0 at home until the 93rd minute, when a 'certain' Marcos Llorente made a dangerous run inside Madrid's box and scored a dramatic header in dying minutes to clinch a draw.

Real Madrid Vs Atletico Madrid - Match Report

Real Madrid hosted Atletico Madrid in a huge blockbuster fixture at the iconic Santiago Bernabau in Madrid on Sunday, February 4, as Los Blancos looked to extend their lead over surprise contenders Girona, who have played scintillating football this season.

However, inspite of taking the lead in the 20th minute via Brahim Diaz, Real couldn't show enough resilience as a defiant Atletico Madrid made surging runs in the final minutes and the move paid off as former FC Barcelona man Memphis Depay assisted Marcos Llorente to score in the 93rd minute and made sure the fixture produces atleast a point, and it did so, as Madrid Derby ended in a stalemate.
