La Liga 2023-24: Ferran Torres Bags Hat-Trick In FC Barcelona's 4-2 Victory Over Real Betis

La Liga 2023-24: FC Barcelona grabbed a much-needed victory on January 21 as they defeated a solid Real Betis side 4-2, thanks to an emphatic hat-trick from Spanish attacker Ferran Torres and a late goal from loanee Joao Felix. The victory will ease off the pressure from head coach Xavi as a string of few defeats and highly inconvincing footballer has brought the former legendary midfielder under the scrutiny. 

Xavi Hernandez was immensly impressed by the antics of Ferran Torres as 'The Shark' is undergoing a rejuvenating season after loads of criticism he recieved past few seasons and was even full of praise for the attacker in the post-match conference.

“Ferrán Torres has turned the tables by himself. I spoke with him in the summer, he sent me a spectacular message as he was willing to succeed… that is what he is doing. He is one of the footballers who has the most mental strength. I’m very happy,” said Xavi Hernandez, FC Barcelona manager.

The manager, who's highly popular for reinstating the La Masia products into the main squad, was on the mark again as he handed a debut to 16-year old centre back Pau Cubarsi.

Joao Felix Shushes His Critics With A Fitting Goal

Joao Felix has had a headline-grabbing career so far. After emerging as a highly rated youth prospect during his breakthrough year at SL Benfica, La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid went big for the Portuguese in that summer as they spent 120 million euros to grab the services of the starboy.

However, the move didn't turn out well for either of the parties as Joao Fleix lost his midas touch on the field and even a loan move to Chelsea FC couldn't help much. But, a loan move to FC Barcelona last summer has seen the Portuguese regain some much needed form keeping in mind the upcoming Euros later this year.

Felix netted in the 90th minute after being assisted by man of the match Ferran Torres and had the following to say for his haters and critics in the post-game interview.
