FA Cup 2024: Why Arsenal Will Wear 'Iconic' All-White Against Liverpool F.C. In Round 3
Arsenal FC have decided to don their iconic all-white shirt in their FA Cup Round 3 fixture against Liverpool FC. Here's Why.
FA Cup 2024 Round 3: Arsenal FC take on Liverpool FC in the Round 3 of the FA Cup 2024 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, January 7. The oldest cup competition in football's history will see the two Premier League giants square off within a span of two weeks as they faced each other earlier in December in a Premier League fixture that ended 1-1.
Mikel Arteta's side are the record 14-time champions of the competition and they last won the FA Cup in 2020 when an emerging Emi Martinez starred in the post, with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang breathing fire in front of the opposition teams' goals. Such has been Arsenal's magic in this competition that even in their dark times, they have been the main side to beat, given their prestige and form in this competition.
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool have recently had success in the competition back in 2022, when they went on a highly successful and memorable run, competing for a quadruple and won the League's Cup and FA Cup in the calendar year, dragged the Premier League title race to the last match day, until a dramatic comeback from 2-0 down against Aston Villa to 3-2 on back of Ilkay Gundogan's winner saw Manchester City pip Liverpool to the finish line once again (repeat of 2018-19 season where similar situation occured) and made it to the final of the UEFA Champions League, only to lose to the iconic 2022 team of Real Madrid.
Here's Why Arsenal's Round 3 Fixture Against Liverpool Will Be Iconic And Special
The 2024 fixture between the sides will be marked by a special occasion as the Gunners have decided to wear their all-white stripes for the fixture. The reason behind this is the message Arsenal FC wants to deliver via their gesture, and that is the No More Red Campaign, in concern with raising awareness against crimes like, theft, murder and in an effort to show resilience against violence and fatal activities.
One team. Inside and outside the stadium 🤍
