Coventry City did extremely well to stretch the game into the extra time and managed to score a miraculous goal, only for it to be ruled out for offsde, and if the goal would have stood, it would have broken the internet, as Coventry had almost managed to score 4 goals after going 3 down against legendary Manchester United.

The fate was not on the side of the Championship outfit, as they are knocked out of the competition on penalties. Inspite of taking the lead in the penalty shootout, Callum O'Hare and Ben Sheaf missed their spot kicks and the Red Devils prevailed with a 4-2 win in the shootout.
We fought like hell to turn that around, and we nearly did it.

"It was about mentality in that moment. You have a plan and have full confidence so I told them to stick to the plan. I had confidence we would win the shootout. Normally Casemiro scores, we train them very well. I am always calm, I focus and know my players can shoot penalties. I'm always confident Andre [Onana] will catch minimum one. I was quite convinced but when the first is a mishit then you never know," said Erik Ten Hag during the post-match interview, as reported by official club website.
