This news comes in as a huge shock for the Culers, as they now might be confused regarding the ongoing Dani Olmo Contract Saga. It is so, because FC Barcelona had released an official statement on New Year's Eve, stating that they have requested for new licenses of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.
"FC Barcelona informs that it has applied for a new license for the players Daniel Olmo and Pau Víctor to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Club would like to deny having requested or receiving any moratorium to any governing body for these inscriptions."
Is Dani Olmo A Free Agent Now?
As of now, there is no official confirmation on the status of Dani Olmo, whether he is still an FC Barcelona player, or a free agent. FC Barcelona were in a deep state of trouble few years ago, as they had to release few club legends, indulge in cost-cutting by severely hampering the wages of star players.
Such was the miserabel state of their finances that it led to the departure of their greatest-ever asset and the best player in the history of football — Lionel Messi.
Whether Dani Olmo features for FC Barcelona this week remains a suspense, but one thing is for sure, that FC Barcelona certainly did not want to start their 2025 with their infamous financial trouble, given they had recently received a cash injection of around 100 million Euros by selling their VIP seats.
