WWC 17: Harmanpreet’s classy knock fires India to 281/4 against Australia

New Delhi: Harmanpreet Karu’s magnificent 160* fired India to mammoth 265/4 in the second semi final match in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup at County ground in Derby on Thursday.
Having won the toss, India decide to bat first but suffered an early jolt as opener Smriti Mandhana failed to fire again and was dismissed for mere 6 runs. Punam Raut followed Mandhana’s path and India were left tumbling on 35/2.
But, Harmanpreet held her nerves and played an innings of her lifetime. The 28-year-old smashed 171 off 155 balls, including 20 fours and 7 sixes.
Kaur’s stitched 66-run stand with India skipper Mithali Raj (36) and later on added 137 runs with Deepti Sharma (25) to keep India in hunt for a spot in the finals of ICC Women’s World Cup
