Updated WTC Points Table After IND vs West Indies Test Series

As per the rules of the WTC 2023-25 cycle, the winning team gets 12 points and 100 percentage of points.

The second Test between India and West Indies was a nail-biting thriller and was set to end on a good note once the hosts finished Day 4 at 76/2. While trailing 0-1, the Windies required 289 runs to level the series but then the visitors looked to take 8 wickets for a clean sweep. But then neither of the teams won as the rain came in and played spoilsport and the match ended in a draw. Talking about the first match, the Indian team won the game and it meant that they clinched the Test series 1-0. However, Rohit Sharma's team settled for a draw against the Windies who put up a brilliant fightback.

The Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj won the Player of the Match award after his heroics with the ball, picking a five-wicket haul. Post this series, team India are at second place in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) points table.

As per the rules of the WTC 2023-25 cycle, the winning team gets 12 points and 100 percentage of points, and on the occasion of a draw, both teams pocket 6 points each and 50 percentage of points.

Since the match between India and West Indies ended on a tie, both teams got four points each and 33.33 percentage of points following the second Test. Pakistan currently stands at the top spot after replacing India with  100 percentage of points following their win over Sri Lanka in the first Test. Rohit Sharma’s men on the other side have 66.67 with one win and one draw in the ongoing WTC 2023-25 cycle.

 

Australia is at the third place having 54.17 percentage of points whereas England are in fourth place with 29.17 percentage of points. The Indian team is set to take part in the three match ODI series against West Indies, beginning from July 27 at the  Kensington Oval, Barbados. The other two games will be played on July 29 and August 1 at the Kensington Oval, Barbados and  Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad respectively.
