WATCH: Kenya register highest score in T20 history, break RCB, Australia's record

Unfortunately, this supernatural score of Kenya is yet to enter into the record books.

Kenya fired the highest-ever total in T20 cricket, registering a whopping 270 for six in the ICC World T20 Qualifer against hosts Rwanda at the Gahanga Cricket Stadium in Kigali. 

Australia (263/3 in 2016) and IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (263/5 in 2013) jointly held the record for the highest-ever total in T20s until the Kenyans came out all guns blazing against rather meak looking Rwanda bowling attack.

The 2003 World Cup semifinalists went on to hit 20 sixes and 22 boundaries in a staggering display of hitting. Moreover, their top four smashed 50 plus scores to help their team script history.

In return, Rwanda batsmen managed to put only 147 runs on the board, handing over a 123-run victory to the visitors.

Unfortunately, Kenya's superlative effort did not go down in the offical record books as the match was not recognised by ICC as an international fixture.

According to reports, in April, the ICC announced that all matches played between member countries will be recognised as 'T20 Internationals', increasing the number of teams with that status from 18 to 104. But those changes do not come into effect for men's games until January 1, 2019.
