'They Are Your Guests': Gautam Gambhir's Special Request To Indian Fans Ahead Of Pakistan World Cup Game
While talking on Star Sports, Gambhir requested the fans not to denigrate the Pakistan team as they are away from their country to play in the ongoing World Cup.
Former India legend Gautam Gambhir came up with a message for the fans ahead of the highly anticipated game between India and Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Just before the game, fans started gathering outside the ground in massive numbers but then Pakistan’s cricket geeks were not present at the scene.
While talking on Star Sports, Gambhir requested the fans not to denigrate the Pakistan team as they are away from their country to play in the ongoing World Cup.
"Support your team but don't misbehave with your visitors, after all they are your guests. We have to remember they are the visitors and here to play the World Cup," Gambhir said after the toss.
Most of the fans from Pakistan failed to get an Indian visa and as a result, they could not mark their presence to watch the India-Pakistan game at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Talking about the game, India are playing against Pakistan where the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to field first. The good news for the Indian team is regular opener Shubman Gill is back in the line-up, replacing Ishan Kishan who played in the last two games.
Gill sustained dengue and as a result, he missed out on playing the initial two matches for India. Both the teams have come to play this clash after winning their last two games. India won their first two games against Australia and Afghanistan while Pakistan also sealed victory against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka and therefore they are playing with the unchanged side.
