Atul Subhash Case: How One Call Led To Arrest Of Bengaluru Techie's Estranged Wife From Gurugram

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Whitefield, Shiv Kumar, stated that all three accused have been remanded to judicial custody. He confirmed that Nikita Singhania was arrested in Gurugram.

The estranged wife of techie Atul Subhash was tracked down and arrested with just a phone call on Sunday by Bengaluru police. 34-year-old, Nikita Singhania, had been evading arrest after the family of Atul filed a suicide abetment case against her.

According to a report by NDTV, she frequently changed locations, relied solely on WhatsApp for communication, and applied for anticipatory bail in an effort to avoid detection. However, a single phone call mistake led to her apprehension. Nikita had moved into a PG accommodation in Gurugram, while her mother, Nisha Singhania, and brother, Anurag Singhania, remained in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Nikita inadvertently made a phone call to a close relative, leaving behind a traceable signal. Police tracked her location to Gurugram's Rail Vihar and detained her. She was then instructed to contact her mother, which enabled authorities to trace Nisha and Anurag to Jhusi town in Prayagraj.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Whitefield, Shiv Kumar, stated on Sunday that all three accused have been remanded to judicial custody. He confirmed that Nikita Singhania was arrested in Gurugram, Haryana. The other two accused, Nisha and Anurag Singhania, were arrested near Hotel Rameshwaram in the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh.

"The accused Nikita Singhania was arrested near the Blossom Stayz pg in Gurugram. Accused Nisha Singhania and Anurag Singhania, were arrested near Hotel Rameshwaram in Prayagraj, UP. They were brought to Bengaluru and produced before the judge. They have been remanded to judicial custody...Multiple teams were sent to multiple places, "DCP Kumar told news agency ANI.

Techie's Father Urges For His Grandson's Custody

Meanwhile, the father of deceased Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, Pawan Kumar Modi, on Sunday urged for custody of his grandson. He appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and other authorities to secure the child's custody.

Atul Subhash was found dead last Monday at his Bengaluru home. Following a complaint by his brother, Bikas Kumar, police registered a case of abetment to suicide. The family has also reiterated their demand for the custody of the child.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Atul had contemplated suicide 15 days before his death. He had searched for legal information online and written his suicide note three days before the incident.
