South Africa Women Vs West Indies Women, Women's T20 World Cup 2024 HIGHLIGHTS
Laura Woolvardt won the coin toss and took a bold call to bowl first under extremely hot conditions at the Dubai International Stadium. The bowling attack of Proteas Women did not let their skipper down as they got rid of the dangeroud Hayley Kristen Matthews in the 3rd over, and the West Indies Women skipper departed for an individual score of 10.
Stefanie Taylor anchored the innings till the end but found no real support from the other end, as wickets kept falling down at regular intervals. A returning Dendra Dottin started off her innings with a scintillating boundary but found no-real going further ahead as her quick and short knock came to an end at 13.
Nonkululeko Mlaba was the star bowler for Proteas Women, as he recorded the figures of 4/29 in her 4 overs, and came agonisingly close of registering the first five-wicket haul of the tournament but could not do so.
An unbeaten 44 off 41 from Stefanie Taylor was the only bright knock for West Indies Women, as they were restricted to 118/6 in ther 20 overs.
In reply, skipper Laura Woolvardt and Tazmin Brits left no crumbs behind in ther smashing of West Indies Women by registering their respective half-centuries and in the process, a 10-wicket win, as the pair registered an unbeaten stand of 119.
