Women's Asia Cup 2024: Bangladesh Women have kept their semi final hopes alive, as they have registered an emphatic win over Thailand Women in 8th T20 of the Women's Asia Cup 2024. With the win, Bangladesh Women have registered their first win of the tournament, but are still third in their group, as Thailand Women have a better net run rate for now.
Electing to bat first, Thailand Women did not do justice to their decision, as the side was restricted to 96/9 in their 20 overs, thanks to a four-wicket haul from Rabeya Khan and economical bowling from Bangladesh Women.
In reply, Bangladesh Women lost their first wicket on the score of 24, but a solid 60-run partnership betweenIshma Tanjim and half-centurion Murshida Khatun all but ensured the victory, and the winning runs were hit by Ritu Moni, as she smashed a boundary to seal a 7-wicket win.

"I am doing the job for the team and everyone is doing well so I am happy. I was happy with the 2nd wicket I picked. I tried to bowl full and maintained the wicket-to-wicket line to get the wicket," said Rabeya Khan, who was awarded the Man of the Match.
Here's What The Two Captains Said During Post-Match Presentation Ceremony
Thipatcha Puttawong (Thailand Women Captain):
"We are here with a very young side. All the girls are getting a good experience. We would have loved to get some partnerships going but we will learn from this. Our side is very energetic. Even towards the end, we were not giving up and we will look to play good cricket in our final game."
Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women Captain):
"The way the girls bowled today was brilliant. We couldn't capitalize against Sri Lanka. We wanted to give our 100% and execute our game plans. We couldn't execute 100% but still happy. Murshida is a very capable player and doing really well since few years for the team. I am so happy for her and Rumana is the most senior player. The way she handled in the middle was brilliant. Wicketkeeper's fingers are not good all the time. Hurt a bit but it will be better in one or 2 days."
