Dhoni celebrated his 42nd birthday on July 7 (Friday). With the former India captain achieving a cult status all around the world but especially in India, fans took to social media to pour their wishes for him. In addition, some fans even gathered outside his residence and were fortunate enough to get a wave from him from his terrace.
Dhoni struggled with a knee injury throughout IPL 2023. However, once the tournament finished, he underwent a surgery in Mumbai. Even though the wicketkeeper-batter announced that he will return for another season of the league, an actual call would be taken near the start of the next season depending upon how he recovers from the surgery and whether his body is fit enough to bear the exertion of yet another IPL season.
Dhoni remains the only captain in the world to have won all three ICC trophies. In addition, he led the Indian test team to the number 1 ranking and now has five IPL trophies in his cabinet.
