Windies Pacer Reprimanded For Misconduct; Handed Two-Match Ban

The Caribbean pacer has been handed two-match ban by Windies Cricket Board for showing misconduct. Read below for details.

Alzarri Joseph has been slapped a two-match by the West Indies Cricket Board for his misconduct during West Indies Vs England 3rd ODI at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

The West Indies pacer was seen in a heated exchange with skipper Shai Hope upon field placements and left the pitch fuming. During the match, former West Indies legend Sir Ian Bishop, during commentary, reflected on the incident and stated that the 'players must respect their captain'.

The apex instution for cricket in the region have now looked into the incident and taken a strict action against the Caribbean pacer.

"Alzarri's behaviour did not align with the core values that Cricket West Indies upholds. Such conduct cannot be overlooked, and we have taken decisive action to ensure the gravity of the situation is fully acknowledged," said Windies Director of Cricket, Miles Bascombe, in a released statement. 

West Indies won the series 2-1 after registering an impressive 8-wicket win over Liam Livingstone's England. The Windes will now play a five-match T20I series against the side, and will be looking to carry on the momentum they have built in the aftermath of the ODI series win.

Alzarri Joseph Apologises For His Misconduct During WI Vs ENG 3rd ODI

The West Indies pacer has released an official apology in the aftermath of the incident, and has stated that 'his passion got the better off him'.

"I recognise that my passion got the best of me. I have personally apologised to captain Shai Hope and my teammates and management. I also extend my sincerest apologies to the West Indies fans - I understand that even a brief lapse in judgment can have a far-reaching impact, and I deeply regret any disappointment caused," said Alzarri Joseph.
