We're focusing on our brand of cricket, can beat any other side: Karun Nair

Nair feels that every player is contributing at the right time, focusing on how they play as a team

Karun Nair has stated that at present, the Indian cricket team is capable of beating any other side in the Test circuit.

Nair was recently inducted in the 15-men Indian squad for one-off Test match against Afghanistan. Though he couldn’t make into the playing XI, he observed the entire scenario from the dressing room.

In a recent interview with Sportstar, Nair stated that consistency is the key to team India’s long-term success. He said, “We were not looking at who we’re playing. We focused on our brand of cricket. It doesn't matter who we play or where we play. It is about focusing on how we play as a team.”

“We have done that (been consistent) for the last few years, and if we can do it, we will stay as No. 1 Test team. Everyone chips in at the right moment and collectively you start performing. We can beat any team on the day,” he added.

Nair also went on to appreciate the way Afghanistan have been performing in international cricket which ultimately earned them the Test status.

Karun Nair made his debut in the Test arena back in December 2016 against England. He gained the limelight after smashing a magnificent triple century which made him the only second Indian cricketer, after Virender Sehwag, to reach this feat.
