We need a perfect mix of caution and aggression in the next Test: Kraigg Braithwaite

After the match Braithwaite opened up on how his team planned to improve their shortcomings ahead of the second Test. He further said that the Windies batsmen can learn from the way Indian batsmen batted in the Test match

After the Rajkot Test, Kraig Braithwaite, who took charge of the West Indies team, confessed that his batsmen played unnecessary offensive shots against India, which led to the team's second-biggest defeat. The First Test turned out to be the biggest nightmare for West Indies as they lost the first Test by an innings and 272 runs.

With this victory, India now leads the 2-match Test series 1-0. The second and the final test will begin from October 12 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

After the match Braithwaite opened up on how his team planned to improve their shortcomings ahead of the second Test, he said,” "Going forward what we need to do is along with the attacking shots, trust in defense. I think that's the key," said Braithwaite after India beat West Indies by an innings and 272-run in the series opener.

"Obviously when the field goes back, it's a matter of still staying positive in defense also and putting away the bad balls, stroking the ball along the ground for singles. I just don't think we didn't trust our defence as much as we should have," he added.

Braithwaite further said that the Windies batsmen can learn from the way Indian batsmen batted in the Test match. "I think what they can look at is how India batted. We saw the guys getting in and backing themselves. Obviously, Shaw was quite attacking; he was 100 percent into what he was doing. Kohli obviously came in, took his time and flourished," he said.
