Water Cannon Salute To Team India's Flight At Mumbai Airport Ahead Of Victory Parade — WATCH

The plane carrying the Indian cricket team landed at Mumbai Airport on Tuesday, where they received a never-seen-before welcome.

The Indian Cricket Team, which won the T20 World Cup 2024, arrived in New Delhi earlier today after being stranded in Bridgetown, Barbados for five days due to a category 4 hurricane. The team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who hosted them on breakfast, and then departed for Mumbai for the victory parade at the iconic Marine Drive.

Upon their arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the Vistara flight carrying the team received a water cannon salute.

The video went viral soon after Team India's flight landed at the Mumbai airport.

Meanwhile, thousands of people gathered in south Mumbai to watch the Indian T20 cricket team's victory parade. Mumbai police urged commuters to avoid heading towards Marine Drive. The champions were driven in the city in a specially designed bus to mark the historic celebration of the team's victory.

The celebratory roadshow started from the Nariman Point and will travel all the way along the Marine Drive in Mumbai, where the Wankhede Stadium is located.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team for breakfast on Thursday during which, he said, there were memorable conversations on the side's experiences through the marquee event co-hosted by USA and the West Indies.

"An excellent meeting with our Champions! Hosted the World Cup winning team at 7, LKM and had a memorable conversation on their experiences through the tournament," PM Modi posted on social media platform X along with pictures of him with the team.

The PM was flanked by Rohit and outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid in the group picture. Several players later shared photos with the PM.
