New Delhi: The rise of T20 cricket in the recent years as forced batsmen to invent new shots to smash quick runs but Sri Lanka’s Chamara Silva took innovation to a whole new level as he attempted one of the most bizzare shots the game has ever seen.

The incident took place during a domestic match between MAS Unichela and Teejay Lanka P Sara Oval in Colombo, the 37-year-old can be seen going behind the stumps to play an outrageous shot but the straight ball hits the woodwork, forcing him to walk back towards the dressing room in embarrassment.

Chamara has represented Sri Lanka in 11 Tests and 75 ODI’s, scoring an aggregated 2124 runs.

Sri Lankan cricket board had been handed a two-year ban from cricket for breaching the spirit of the game during a Tier-B first class match earlier this year, which was probed for alleged match-fixing.
