New Delhi: The small crowd assembled at the Gabba to watch the fifth and final day of the Australia-Pakistan day-night Test held their anxious breath when Pakistan produced their best ever batting performance in the fourth innings in attempt to chase down a world record target of 490. Middle-order batsman Asad Shafiq had produced by far his best innings in Test cricket but was dismissed for 137, leaving Pakistan 41 runs to get with just 1 wicket in hand.

Just then an improbable run out ended the Test match in a second.

Shah, who scored a career-high 33, dug out a Yorker from Starc , edging it on the ground to slip, Skipper Steve Smith threw down the stumps to catch Shah out of his crease and ensured an Australia victory by 39 runs.

Speaking about the run out Australia captain Steve Smith he was lucky that Yasir was short off ground. “I am not sure what he was doing. But it was nice that he was out of his ground and I was able to hit the stumps to finish what has been an amazing Test match,” said Smith.
