Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are presently vacationing in the United Kingdom after the culmination of the Cricket World Cup 2023. While India engaged in a T20I series against Australia at home, the team chose to rest most of its key players, opting for a young squad. 

Kohli, who stood out in the World Cup and secured the 'Player of the Tournament' award, was spotted in London earlier and was seen in a viral video from Winter Wonderland alongside Anushka and their daughter Vamika. Kohli interacted with fans while Anushka enjoyed moments with Vamika.

As the Indian cricket team transitions after the World Cup, a young squad led by Suryakumar Yadav is competing against Australia in a 5-match T20I series. However, there's no official confirmation regarding the availability of senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for the upcoming all-format tour of South Africa.

Recent reports indicate that Kohli will skip the white-ball matches against South Africa and will only join the team for the Test series. Sources suggest that his participation in T20Is has been a topic of discussion since the T20 World Cup 2022, and his absence from ODIs came as a surprise. Additionally, Rohit Sharma's decision regarding participation in the ODI series against South Africa is yet to be confirmed. Speculations suggest he might skip the T20I series in South Africa.

However, as per a recent TOI report, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is trying to persuade Rohit Sharma to assume the captaincy of Team India for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa and the T20 World Cup in 2024. With Hardik Pandya unavailable for the South Africa tour, the cricketing body is eager for Rohit Sharma to take charge of the team in the T20Is, comprising three matches, along with an equal number of ODIs and two Tests.

The BCCI's selection committee, led by former India all-rounder Ajit Agarkar, is slated to pick the Indian squad across all formats shortly. It's anticipated that both senior batters will likely join the team for the Test series commencing at Centurion on Boxing Day.
