'Virat Kohli's Best Is Yet To Come': Pakistani Batter Heaps Lavish Praise On India Star
The Pakistani batter revealed how he even reached out to Virat Kohli for any advice regarding cricket and he has been kind enough to help him.
Former India captain Virat Kohli is a big name in world cricket. The star cricketer is not just an athlete anymore. He has become a brand in himself and it is because of his dominance in world cricket and the way he carries himself on and off the field that has taken him to that level. He is the most followed cricketer in the world on Instagram and it would be fair to say that despite there being tensed political relationship between India and Pakistan, there are a lot of Kohli admirers even in Pakistan.
In a recent interview, Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad, who at once stage was being compared to Kohli, revealed that he himself is a huge fan of the India's talisman. He even heaped praise on the ex-Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper crediting him for transforming the way the Indian team go about playing Test match cricket.
"We share a mutual respect for each other. Whenever I need any advice regarding cricket, he has been kind (to help me out). I really respect him as a player. He has changed himself dramatically. When he burst onto the scene during the U-19 World Cup, he was a bit chubby. But the way he has transformed himself, not just from the cricketing aspect, it is commendable. He took India to new heights in Test cricket. I haven't seen someone who has adapted so quickly. I feel, his best is yet to come," Shehzad said on Nadir Ali's podcast.
Notably, India had a great record under Kohli's captaincy in the game's longest format of the game. The Men in Blue reached the top of the rankings and even defeated Australia in Australia. However, he failed to lead the team to victory in the ICC World Test Championship final (2019-21) where the team succumbed to a defeat against New Zealand, the same team which had shattered the team's hopes even in the 2019 ODI World Cup with Kohli at the helm.
