Unchanged Windies to bat; India play Chahal, Sundar in place of Bumrah, Kuldeep

India vs West Indies 3rd T20I: Windies opted to bat first against India at the 3rd T20I at Chennai.

West Indies elected to bat first as the coin went up for the final time in the series in the inconsequential 3rd T20I at Chennai against hosts India.

Having already won the series with comprehensive wins in the first two T20Is, India expectedly made two changes in their side. Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav, who were released from the squad, made way for Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar as India decided to play three spinners with Krunal Pandya being the other option.

Sundar, who made a name for himself in the Nidahas Trophy earlier this year, will play his first match in front of his home crowd. Sundar is making a comeback from an ankle injury that kept him away from the England tour.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who is 69 runs away from becoming the highest run scorer in T20Is sounded hopeful of scoring another ton to take his T20I century tally to five. "I will try my best to get another 100. But I will work on the process. For me, all matter is how team performs. We want to finish the home season with a victory," said Rohit at toss time.

West Indies have gone in an with an unchanged playing XI. Captain Carlos Brathwaite spoke a lot about the pride at stake for the players, who so far have won only one match in the entire series. 

"5-6 million people back in the Caribbean, so they must be going to church right now on a Sunday morning and we want them to come back to a Windies win. We have a lot of pride to play for. We have to show pride, hunger and intensity to wi," said Brathwaite.
