“Virat Kohli won’t score a century in Australia.” This is what Pat Cummins had said few months ago at an event when asked how Australia will stop the Indian captain.
Cummins bowled only three deliveries to Kohli and induced him in poking at a wide ball, as a result of which the skipper found himself at the receiving end as Usman Khawaja took a stunning blinder to remove him.
Undoubtedly, fans and experts were very disappointed with Kohli’s batting performance.
@klrahul11 @imVkohli @RaviShastriOfc Talent alone has no place in a professional world. It has to be topped up by perseverance. You have to shed the star tag and lead a monk’s life to achieve greatness. At the current rate “tumse na ho payega”

Sluggish footwork, thick edge behind the wicket, Vijay falls too and India are two wickets down in less than half an hour. Everybody wants to see @imVkohli bat for sure, but I’m not sure he wanted to see himself in the middle so early!

This is weakest Indian team travelled in any era, the entire team depends on the performance of a single person, only one person stands out rest all for namesake, @RaviShastriOfc @cricketaakash @cricketwallah @imVkohli @vikramsathaye #INDvAUS #AUSvIND

@imVkohli isn't so lucky with the tosses but today he called it right and chose to bat but yet again the story repeats at the start of a fresh series... Crazy shot selection and the scorecard reads 129/6 #IndvsAus

@imVkohli and @RaviShastriOfc control over Indian cricket has to go. The less they talk better it is!

Critics on twitter were immensely disappointed with the opening duo of KL Rahul and Murali Vijay after they failed to repeat the performance they exhibited in the tour game. KL Rahul (2) looked out of sorts against their express pace and was unsurprisingly dismissed cheaply.
KL Rahul is an ever present member of this Indian side in 2018 while averaging 24...

Whose compromising video he has, Kohli's or Shastri's or selectors'?
Why even you are laughing at it atleast he played better than other overrated players like Kl rahul and captain kohli and vice captain rahne who came to check how the pitch is and went back...hahahaha😂😂
— Faisal Shaikh (@FaisalSha1kh) December 6, 2018
@BCCI Why is KLRahul in the playing 11.?? He has been underperforming since ages now.. Why is Dhawan not even in the Test team of 16..??? Is #BorderGavaskarTrophy in Australia a time for experiment.??

Failure for KL Rahul. No point chasing the ball wide in the second over of the match. Bad shot to play. Australia draw first blood. They will want to get to Virat asap. Pujara now.

Didn’t really have to play/hit that one. India loses Rahul in the second over. Partnership here please...take the sheen off. #AusvInd #7cricket @Channel7 @1116sen

Murali Vijay - KL Rahul opening stands outside India: 0, 48, 4, 3, 28, 11, 7, 0, 0 & 3 (last)

Avg p'ship: 10.40#AUSvIND
KL Rahul and M Vijay average 11.22 as an opening partnership in away Tests. On the day they fall well short of even that low mark. Rahul flashes outside off and is caught easily by Aaron Finch in the slip cordon. That is a poor shot. #AUSvIND

If KL Rahul is getting chances to prove himself than why not Rohit Sharma ??
— Arjun Yadav (@M_Arjun_yadav) December 5, 2018
I genuinely feel, that Rohit Sharma should get chances in all 4 games and after that someone can comment on his performance.

After hitting Nathan Lyon for a six in the 38th over, Rohit Sharma (37) decided to hit him again the very next delivery for some inexplicable reason but Harris took the catch this time easily without moving an inch.
The fans on Twitter were bewildered and this is how they reacted…
At this stage of his career, Rohit Sharma must look at every Test match opportunity as a rare privilege. Can’t be squandering opportunities like this. #AUSvIND

Rohit Sharma is my current fav @BCCI bat , but no way can you defend that shot ! https://t.co/hWycjDlPTU
Makes me cringe.

Please let this be the last test match Rohit Sharma ever plays. #AUSvIND #cricketaustralia

Rohit Sharma just dismissed himself! A player playing as a pure batsman in a three day school level game wouldn't get out to such an ugly hoick! Let alone get out he wouldn't dare to play such a shot!

India began the 1 Test on a highly disappointing note. After winning the toss, they opted to bat first but couldn’t count upon their decision.
