Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara desires donning the Indian jersey in ODIs, T20 internationals
India team which ended its 2019 ICC World Cup campaign with a heart breaking loss to New Zealand in the semis, would be embarking on their next mission to the Caribbean.
The Indians are scheduled to take on the Windies in a month long tour comprising of 2 Tests, 3 T20s and 3 ODIs.
Addressing a Sports Conclave in New Delhi, Cheteshwar Pujara was posed with a question on whether he would like to play all formats of the game for the national team.
Pujara responded in emphatic fashion stating that on the back of his stellar performances in Test cricket, he was ready to play for India in other formats too. Pujara expressed his desire to play for India in all three forms of the game.
The ever consistent Indian strokemaker said that he has some good results under his belt for India in domestic cricket and hoped to replicate the same for the national team, if given a chance in the future.
The technically sound Pujara has been hailed as a Test specialist and is a mainstay in the Indian Test team's batting lineup over the past five years. Along with skipper Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahae, the dependable strokemaker has been a pillar of strength in the middle order and has been pivotal to India's success in the longer format of the game.
India's reliable No.3 has amassed 5426 runs in 68 Test for India at a staggering average of over 50. Pujara has a humongous appetite to score daddy double tons in Tests.
