Tamil Nadu Thrash Hyderabad To Enter Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Final, Sarvana Kumar Takes 5-Fer

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021: Captain Vijay Shankar also played a sensible knock to take his team over the line.

Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Tamil Nadu displayed a one-sided performance to defeat Hyderabad and enter the final of the domestic T20 tournament. The semi-final was being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, previously known as Feroz Shah Kotla, in Delhi.

Earlier in the day, Vijay Shankar won the toss for Tamil Nadu and decided to bowl first.

His bowlers did a tremendous job and bundled Hyderabad for just 90 runs. Sarvana Kumar picked up five wickets and gave away just 21 runs. The semi-final belonged to this 32-year old medium pacer. For Hyderabad, Tanay Thyagarajan was the highest run-getter.

The Hyderabad team was without Mohammed Siraj, and thus, looked weak in the bowling department as well. Tamil Nadu put up a clinical performance with the bat as captain Vijay Shankar top-scored with a sensible 43.

Tamil Nadu will now face either Karnataka or Vidarbha in the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The final will be played in Delhi on Monday, 22 November 2021.
