Sri Lanka Cricket Willing To Host England's 5-Test Tour Of India If Covid-19 Situation Does Not Improve: Report
According to a report in ‘The Island', England's five-match Test series in India has dark clouds of covid-19 pandemic looming all around it with the relentless attack of the pandemic seeming far from over in the near future. In this scenario, Sri Lanka cricket is willing to host the contest between the two cricketing nations.
There could be some pulsating cricket action with an Indian flavour taking place in the Island nation of Sri Lanka next year as the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has reportedly expresses their willingness to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to host India's Test series against England scheduled to be played early next year, if a situation amid the COVID-19 pandemic demand for it.

The report in the Sri Lankan daily further suggests that Sri Lanka could serve as the perfect back up for the India-England series as England are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka in early January next year to conclude the remainder of their series which was postponed in March this year. Hence, there could a great possibility for the 'Three Lions' to stay back after their two Tests in Sri Lanka to play the series against India.

"The possibility of England staying back after their two Tests in Sri Lanka to complete the series against India has been given some thought after SLC came up with the suggestion," said the report.
This development comes a week after the BCCI and the England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed that England's white ball tour of India, which has been postponed until early 2021 , from its originally scheduled September to early October timeline this year, .
England were scheduled to tour India in September as part of the FTP to play three T20Is and as many ODIs and then return again in January 2021 to play five Test matches.
