Shakib Al Hasan Grabs Fan Pestering Him For Selfie By His Neck, Shocking Video Goes Viral

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, annoyed by the fan's repeated attempts to take a selfie with him, grabbed him by his neck, as captured in viral video.

Shakib Al Hasan is one of the finest cricketers ever to have played international cricket for Bangladesh. Among the current set of players, he is perhaps their greatest cricketing star with him recognised all round the world for his performance on the field not only at the international level but also in leagues around the world. There is no doubt that he receives immense love and support in his own country.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, a fan can be seen requesting Shakib for a selfie while the all-rounder politely declines at first, after repeated efforts from the fan, the 37-year-old loses his cool and grabs the fan by his neck. The video of Shakib losing his cool has gone viral on social media.

While there has not been any official complaint, a report carried by Bangladesh media said that the incident happened on the sidelines of Dhaka Premier League fixture.

Not The First Controversy Involving Shakib Al Hasan

Notably, the neck-grabbing incident is not the first controversy involving Shakib Al Hasan. He has been involved in multiple such incidents. Once upset by an umpire's decision, the veteran of close to 250 ODIs, over 100 ODIs and more than 60 Test matches, kicked at the stumps and even uprooted them despite the umpire's decision being final. The southpaw is the country's top-ranked all-rounder in T20Is, second-ranked all-rounder in ODIs and third in Test matches.

Shakib led Bangladesh in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 in India. He is likely to be a key member of the T20 World Cup 2024 squad which has not yet been announced by Bangladesh.
