Amid all the excitement and buzz around the Cricket World Cup, Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar was not far away from the action as he made his highly anticipated debut as a commentator during the tournament opener between England and South Africa at The Oval in London on Thursday.
Tendulkar lent his voice as a commentator in the World Cup opener with former Indian greats Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly in the commentary box.
The Master Blaster also lit up the pre-match presentation show in Hindi and English with his very own segment ‘Sachin Opens Again’ where he was joined by other panelists.
The 46-year-old, who has played for India in six World Cups, holds most of the batting records at the showpiece event, including most runs and most number of runs in a single edition of the World Cup.
Tendulkar is the leading run scorer for India in both Tests and One Day Internationals. Sachin amassed 15,921 runs in the longer format of the game and topped the ODI run scoring charts with 18,426 runs. He finally retired from all forms of cricket in 2013.
