Joburg Super Kings secured a 10-wicket victory against MI Cape Town in a dominating manner at the SA20 league, with Faf du Plessis playing a key role in the team's success.
Joburg Super Kings (JSK) captain Faf du Plessis showcased a spectacular return to form by hammering a 20-ball half-century during his team's encounter against MI Cape Town (MICT) at Newlands securing a commanding 10-wicket victory in the SA20 league on January 29 (Monday). The experienced Proteas batsman, along with England's Leus du Plooy, dismantled the MI Cape Town bowling attack, successfully chasing down the rain-truncated target of 98 runs in just 5.4 overs.
Before the game against MICT, Faf du Plessis had a series of forgettable outings in the ongoing SA20 league, with scores of 17, 9, 10, 7, and 6. However, in the match against Pretoria Capitals just before that, he made an unbeaten 25 off 12 balls. JSK had struggled to secure victories, managing only one win in the previous seven matches, including two no-results. Du Plessis' return to form with the bat has played a crucial role in keeping his team alive in the race for the knockout stages.
