Prithvi Shaw's 72-ball century rescues India 'A' after following on against West Indies 'A'
He is currently at 101 while Mayank Agarwal has scored 56 runs of 71 deliveries
After winning the ODI series, the India A side found themselves at the receiving end when they took the field against West Indies A in the first unofficial Test at Kent County Cricket Ground, Beckenham.
In response to West Indies A’s massive 383, the Indian A were bundled up within 133 in the first innings and were followed on. It was altogether a humiliating situation for the Indian young guns, that too, after lifting the cup in blue.
But soon, the Indian camp gained all their hopes back when they came to bat in the second innings. Openers Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal shouted out loud with their blades and sailed the team to 150/0 by the end of second day.
Shaw scored a magnificent 72-ball hundred, including 18 boundaries and a six, during the process of damage control. He is currently at 101 while Agarwal has scored 56 runs of 71 deliveries. India A still trail by 91 runs.
Earlier in the game, West Indies 'A' struggled at 82/3. However, Amris and Brooks added 152 for the fourth wicket and put their team in a commanding position. Middle-order batsman Raymon Reifer frustrated the opposition bowlers and made a valuable contribution of 52 that helped the team cross 350-run mark.
In the Indian bowling department, pacer Ankit Rajpoot performed phenomenally, registering the figures of 4/76 in the innings. Navdeep Saini and Shahbaz Nadeem picked up two scalps each, as all-rounder Vijay Shankar finished with one.
