Pakistan cricketer Zubair Ahmed dies on spot after being hit by a bouncer
New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a young Pakistan cricketer Zubair Ahmed died after being hit by a bouncer during a club match in Mardan on July 14.
Zubair was treated on the ground but the blow was too severe and he died immediately.
It was later on confirmed by PCB that Zubair was not wearing a helmet while batting.
“Tragic death of Zubair Ahmed is another reminder that safety gear i.e. helmet must be worn at all times. Our sympathies with Zubair's family,” PCB wrote on its official twitter handle.

Incidentally, Australia opener David Warner was also hit by a bouncer on Tuesday during an intra-Australia side practice match. Warner was wearing a helmet but the Josh Hazlewood bouncer hit him at the side of his neck.
Thankfully, Warner was later on cleared of concussion. But Zubair was not as lucky.
