Devoid Of Sponsors, Pakistan Cricket Team Kits To Feature Shahid Afridi's Foundation Logo On England Tour
According to media reports, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been struggling to find a kit sponsor for the national cricket team after their last sponsorship contract with a beverage company expired recently.
In what comes as a major relief in ending their sponsorship woes, the sponsor-less Pakistan cricket team will sport the logo of Shahid Afridi Foundation on their playing kits, when they play a 3-match Test series and as many T20 internationals against England later in August and September.
According to media reports, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been struggling to find a kit sponsor for the national cricket team after their last sponsorship contract with a beverage company expired recently.
"We're delighted that the Shahid Afridi Foundation logo will be featured on the Pakistan playing kits, since we are charity partners to Pakistan Cricket Board. Thanking WasimKhan & the PCB for their continued support & wishing our boys all the very best with the tour #HopeNotOut," Afridi said in a tweet.
Pakistan journalist Saj Sadiq further said that along with the Shahid Afridi Foundation logo, a couple of sponsor's logos would be there on the kits of the players during the England tour. "The Shahid Afridi Foundation logo will appear on the Pakistan kit for the tour of England, together with a couple of sponsor's logos," Sadiq tweeted. According to a report in Cricket Pakistan, only one firm had expressed their interest during the recent bidding process put forward by the PCB for the sponsorship. It added that the company has valued the deal at only 30 per cent as compared to the previous contract. The opening Test between England and Pakistan is scheduled to be played at the Old Trafford, Manchester, from August 5-9, which will be followed by back to back Tests at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, from August 13-17 and August 21-25. After the culmination of the Test series, the action will then return to Manchester as Old Trafford will play hosts to all the three T20Is, which will be played on August 28 and 30 and September 1.We’re delighted that the @SAFoundationN logo will be featured on the Pakistan playing kits, since we are charity partners to @TheRealPCB.
