PCB Conducts Third Round Of COVID-19 Test On 5 Players, One Support Staff; All Results To Come Out On Saturday

New Delhi: Five Pakistan reserve players and a backup support personnel underwent Covid-19 tests, the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed on Thursday.The PCB will announce outcomes of all tests on Saturday and until then the apex cricket board will not make any further comment on the subject. The five Pakistani cricketers who were tested for COVID-19 are Bilal Asif, Imran Butt, Mohammad Nawaz, Musa Khan and Rohail Nazir along with masseur Mohammad Imran. The PCB had originally named Bilal, Imran, Nawaz and Musa as reserve players on 12 June when a 29-player squad was announced for the upcoming England tour, while Rohail has been added as a backup wicketkeeper. On Thursday, 18 players and 11 player support personnel underwent second round of tests, while the 10 players and one player support personnel, who had tested positive earlier in the week, will be retested on Friday. PCB CEO Wasim Khan had expressed his disappointment lashed out at all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, who went ahead and got himslef tested privately and declared his result on a public platform The PCB which had conducted a COVID-19 test had earlier declared 10 Pakistani cricketers as positive for the deadly virus and Hafeez was part of that group. Hafeez then took to Twitter to share the report of the personal test that he got done within 24 hours after PCB's test. Hafeez had also shared the photo of his report in which had come out as negative. Khan slammed Hafeez for going public with his result without letting the board know about his condition.
