'I Let Pakistan Down': Star All-Rounder Takes Blame For Team's T20 World Cup Defeat To India
T20 World Cup 2024: Pakistan are out of the race of Super 8 in the ICC tournament and an all-rounder has taken the blame for the team's loss against India earlier in the competition.
IND vs PAK, T20 World Cup 2024: As it turned out, Pakistan's defeat against India in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 came back to haunt them as they have been eliminated from the race to the Super 8. The Babar Azam-led side started their campaign with a shock defeat against the United States of America (USA) but it was their loss against India that hurt them the most.
Not only was it because of the fact that it came against their arch-rivals but also because they were in a position of dominance against India and yet let the game slip away. And now a Pakistan all-rounder has taken the responsibility of the team's defeat. After bundling out India for 119, Pakistan found themselves at 72/2 in 12 overs but only managed to post 113/7 in their quota of 20 overs.

It is Imad Wasim who has expressed his regret over his slow innings. Coming out to bat at number 5, Wasim scored 15 off 23 balls and got out in the last over when Pakistan needed 18 runs to win. Eventually, Pakistan succumbed to a 6-run defeat. Pakistan still have to play Ireland in their final league-stage match but can't get past USA who have 5 points with 2 wins and a washed out match.
