Among many breathtaking moments in World cricket, a bowler taking three wickets on back-to-back deliveries is a remarkable achievement in any format.

The ODI World Cup tournament has so far seen 10 hat-trick takers, featuring two Indians in the elite list.

India vs New Zealand 1987 World Cup: Chetan Sharma (India) became first-ever bowler to take a hat-trick in ODI World Cups.

Pakistan vs Zimbabwe 1999 World Cup: Pakistan's star spinner Saqlain Mushtaq took a hat-trick against Zimbabwe, sealing a memorable win for the Men in Green.

Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh 2003 World Cup: Sri Lanka's impeccable spin bowler Chaminda Vaas took a hat-trick with first three balls of an ODI match.

Australia vs Kenya 2003 World Cup: Premier Aussie pacer Bret Lee dismissed Kenya's three top-order batters in quick succession to complete a memorable hat-trick, just days after Chaminda Vaas stunned the world with his heroics.

Sri Lanka vs South Africa 2007 World Cup: Lasith Malinga, the only bowler ever to take two World Cup hat-tricks, bagged four wickets in four back-to-back deliveries to create history.

West Indies vs Netherlands 2011 World Cup: Windies pacer Kemar Roach dismissed three Netherlands batters to complete his hat-trick, sealing a thumping win for Windies. In the process, he dismissed Pieter Seelaar, Bernard Loots and Berend Westdjik.

Sri Lanka vs Kenya 2011 World Cup: Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga claimed his second hat-trick in the World Cup by dismissing three Kenya batters on back-to-back yorkers.

England vs Australia 2015 World Cup: England's Steven Finn dismissed Australian top-order batters Brad Haddin, Glen Maxwell and Mitchell Jhonson to claim a sensational hat-trick in 2015. With this, he also became the first Englishman to claim a hat-trick.

South Africa vs Sri Lanka 2015 World Cup: Sri Lankan batters Angelo Matthews, Nuwan Kulasekara and Tharindu Kaushal fell victim to South African spinner JP Duminy on back-to-back deliveries, making him first-ever South African to claim a hat-trick in World Cups.

India vs Afghanistan 2019 World Cup: Mohammed Shami's three-wicket haul came in 2019 World Cup against Afghanistan is also the most recent in World Cups. Shami's hat-trick helped India seal a nail-biting win.
