New Zealand collapse as Pakistan win T20 series 3-0

With the help of a record-breaking innings of Babar Azam's 79 runs, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 47 runs in the third and final T20 match and clinched the series 3-0. The 24-year-old, who is also the world's number one batsman in the shortest format of the game, hit seven fours and two sixes in his 58-ball innings.

In addition to Babar, Mohammad Hafeez scored an unbeaten 53 off 34 balls, as Pakistan scored 166 runs for loss of three wickets. Meanwhile, Azam has made a big record in T20 cricket. After breaking the record of India's captain Virat Kohli, he is now the fastest player to reach 1,000 Twenty20 International runs.

Earlier, Virat Kohli crossed the figure of 1000 runs in his 27th innings in T20 cricket.

Pakistan spinners Shadab Khan (3 for 30 runs) and Imad Wasim (2 wickets for 28 runs) played a key role to bundle up New Zealand's for 119 in 16.5 overs. The Kiwis lost their last eight wickets for 23 runs, and Pakistan had yet another clean sweep to their name.

This win for Pakistan is the second clean sweep in the T20 series. Earlier, the MEN IN GREEN had beaten Australia 3-0. For New Zealand, skipper Ken Williamson scored 60 runs in 38 balls including eight fours and two sixes. Opening batsman Glenn Philips contributed 26 runs. 

BRIEF SCORES: Pakistan 166 for 3 (Babar 79, Hafeez 53*) beat New Zealand 119 (Williamson 60, Shadab 3-30, Maqsood 2-21, Imad 2-28) by 47 runs
