MLC 2024 Playoff Scenario: The 2024 season of the Major League Cricket (MLC) is heading towards its business end with three of the four playoff slots already sealed. Washington Freedom, San Francisco Unicorns and Texas Super Kings have already sealed a place for themselves in the final four, there is a place still up for grabs while two teams Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) and MI New York (MINY) remain in contention.

Major League Cricket (MLC 2024) Playoff Qualification Scenario

As things stand, Los Angeles Knight Riders find themselves at the fourth place on the MLC 2024 points table with 5 points from 6 matches while MI New York are placed at the fifth place on the table with 3 points from 6 matches.

For a final spot in MLC 2024, it will be a direct clash between the two teams as they take on each other at the Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas in match number 19 of the tournament.

MI New York will, however, not only have to win but win by a good margin to better Los Angeles Knight Riders' net run rate (NRR). Currently, while Los Angeles Knight Riders' NRR is -0.569, MI New York's NRR is -0.851.

San Francisco Unicorns vs Washington Freedom, Texas Super Kings vs Seattle Orcas are the other remaining league-stage matches of MLC 2024 after which the MLC 2024 Playoff matches will start.

The team that finishes third and fourth will play the Eliminator while the teams that finish first and second play the Qualifier 1. There will be another match between the team that loses Qualifier and the side that wins the Eliminator to decide the second semifinalist. The winner of the first qualifier will await them in the summit clash.
