Melbourne Renegades Suffer 'Biggest Defeat' In The History Of Big Bash League

In T20 cricket, teams often make big scores easily due to the fiery batting, but sometimes there are some bizarre outcomes also which are difficult to believe. Something similar happened in Australia's T20 tournament Big Bash League. The match between Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades on Sunday 13 December saw two very different styles of batting, one of which was so embarrassing that it is almost impossible to believe it.

The 10th season of the Australian T20 League BBL is going on these days and on the fourth day of the tournament, fans got to witness, from great batting to very poor batting in the very same match. On one hand, the team of Sydney Sixers scored 205 runs after performing brilliantly, while the entire team of Melbourne was piled up for only 60 runs!

Sydney, batting first, scored 205 runs losing just 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Opener for the team, Josh Phillippe scored 95 runs while batting. Apart from him, Jordan Silk also scored 45 runs in just 19 balls. Melbourne needed a great start to achieve such a big score, but it did not happen.

Melbourne Renegades Lost 5 wickets for just 5 runs

Australian T20 team captain Aaron Finch's team Melbourne lost 4 wickets for just 25 runs. Finch himself was able to score 12 runs and experienced opener Shaun Marsh scored just 13 runs. But the real drama started after this.

On the last ball of the 7th over, Melbourne lost their 5th wicket on a score of 38. Marsh was dismissed by Steve O'Keefe. After this, Sydney bowlers gave just 5 runs in the next 10 balls and took 5 wickets of Melbourne. The fall of wickets started from 38/5 and stopped at 43/9.

Biggest defeat in BBL history
In the end, Kane Richardson (13) and John Holland somehow pushed the team beyond 50 runs, but the entire team was piled on for just 60 runs in 10.4 overs. 17 runs for the last wicket was Melbourne's biggest partnership in this match. Ben Doshi's took 4 wickets and O'Keefe took 3 wickets for Sydney. With this, Melbourne lost by 145 runs, which is the biggest defeat in the history of the league.
