Kerala floods: Sanju Samson donates Rs 15 lakh, urges others to help
Kerala, God’s own country, is facing the worst floods over a hundred years in the state's history
Indian cricketer Sanju Samson has come forward to help the flood victims of Kerala. The 23-year-old cricketer made a generous donation of Rs 15 lakh towards Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund and also urged everyone to come forward in support of those affected by the disaster.
Sanju’s father, Samson Vishwanadh and brother Saly Samson met Kerala CM Vijayan on his behalf and handed over the cheque.
In an interview, he revealed that it’s not any kind of publicity but the need of the hour where everyone should come forward to help. He said,
“This is not for publicity. I do charity without letting the world know. Now, it's the time to raise some awareness on the importance of making a donation to the flood relief fund and people like me have to do it and let know the public.”
“It's time for everyone to join hands and make whatever contribution they can to help those affected by the flood. I feel it's my duty to promote the message of relief work,” he added.
Apart from Samson, a few current and former international cricketers have come forward on social media and have expressed their grief over the calamity.

Friends in Trivandrum plz don't unnecessarily fill ur petrol tanks. More than 1000 ltrs of fuel for rescue support per day is required here. It’s becoming hard to arrange required fuel from pumps due to unnecessary over filling. Please be responsible & consume less #KeralaFloods
