Shikhar 'Gabbar' Dhawan Roars Loud In Dubai To Scale 7500-Run Landmark In T20 Cricket; Joins Kohli, Rohit In Elite Club

Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan who spearheaded his team's batting efforts in their 13-run win over Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020 encounter played at Dubai, registered a major milestone in his T20 career on Wednesday (October 15) Dhawan who top scored for Delhi Capitals with a 57-run knock off just 33 balls, entered an elite batting club as he scaled 7500-milestone in T20 cricket during the game against Rajasthan Royals in Dubai. Dhawan became only the fourth Indian batsman after Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina to achieve the herculean feat in T20 cricket. Dhawan also became the second fastest Indian to get to the 7500-run milestone as he got the landmark in his 267th match (264th innings).For the record, Virat Kohli has the proud distinction of being the first Indian cricketer to complete 7000 runs in T20 cricket in 2017. With 9156 runs in his kitty, Indian skipper Kohli leads the run tally with 9156 runs from 288 matches at an average of 41.61 with 5 hundreds. Rohit Sharma is second on the list with 8858 runs in 335 games at 32.21 with 6 centuries and then comes Raina with 8392 runs in 319 T20s at 32.65 with 4 tons. A split of Dhawan's runs in the shortest format of the game shows that 1588 of the opener's runs have come for Team India in 61 T20 international while 4785 runs have been notched up in the Indian Premier League in 166 matches since 2008. While the left handed opener averages a notch over 28 for the 'Men in Blue' at the international stage, he fares much better in franchise based cricket, averaging 33.42 with 38 half-centuries.
