IPL 2019: Warner-Bairstow, Nabi heroics hand Sunrisers 118 runs win against RCB at home
‘Wrecker-in-chief’ Mohammad Nabi bowled a dream spell as he picked 4 wickets to derail Bangalore run-chase. Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 118 runs at Hyderabad
‘Wrecker-in-chief’ Mohammad Nabi bowled a dream spell by bagging 4 wickets to derail Bangalore run-chase as Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 118 runs at Hyderabad. At one time, it looked that the Virat-led Bangalore might get bowled out for a score less than 49, the lowest in the history of the tournament, which is their very own record.
SRH already had match in their bag after Jonny Bairstow and David Warner tore apart the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers with sensational centuries, leading Sunrisers Hyderabad to a mammoth 231 for two at home.
In-form Parthiv Patel failed to give a big start to his team and got dismissed very early in the innings. With his departure, skipper Kohli with Hetmyer at the other end came in to play the big role.
Hetmyer's promotion in the batting line-up didn't work well as he got dismissed for. SRH' bowling hero Nabi not only dismissed Hetmyer but also tore apart ABD's defence to shatter his stumps to get three wickets to his name.
RCB’s last hope, skipper Virat Kohli was hunted down by Sandeep Sharma, who bowled a smart delivery to get rid of the 'best batsman in the world' for the sixth time in his career. At that time RCB were 30 for loss of four wickets.
Luck was definitely not in RCB's favour today as RCB all-rounder got run out in an attempt to get a quick single. With Dube’s dismissal and Nabi getting his fourth wicket for the day, Bangalore were fighting a losing battle, with 7 down. Although the match was done and dusted with Bangalore at 86/7, Barman and De Grandhomme played fighting knocks, possibly making an attempt to impress the selectors for next match. Sandeep foxed Barman, who gave an easy catch to Hooda at mid-wicket. Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Johnny Bairstow (114 of 56 balls) and David Warner (100 of 55 balls) produced blistering knocks to lift Sunrisers Hyderabad to a massive total of 231 for 2 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in an IPL match at Hyderabad, today. Bairstow and Warner wreaked havoc at the RCB bowlers to get to their blistering hundreds. Bairstow scored 114 while comeback-man Warner remained unbeaten on exact 100 to break the record for the highest opening partnership in IPL. RCB are yet to win a match this season.
