IPL 2019: Rohit Sharma applauds Bumrah for holding nerves in Super Over

In the one-over eliminator, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed 8/2 with Jasprit Bumrah bagging the wickets of Manish Pandey and Mohammed Nabi

Mumbai Indians are once again amongst the top four as they have qualified for the play-offs after a gap of two years. The men in blue and golden outclassed the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Super Over on Thursday night. The victory earned them two more points, taking them to the 2nd position on the points table of IPL 2019. After taking the game home, a delighted Rohit Sharma showered praises for Jasprit Bumrah whose marvellous bowling didn’t let Hyderabad dominate at Wankhede. “Bumrah has been brilliant for us and he keeps improving every game and he is hungry for success. He wants to be out there and express himself and he understands that he is a lead bowler for us. He held the nerve in the crucial overs and in the Super Over as well,” said the MI skipper. Rohit appreciated the way Quinton De Kock anchored Mumbai’s innings. However, he also admitted that a lot of work has to be done by the batting department including him. “We got some work to do in the batting department, Quinny has been good but we need help from the other batters. The confidence is there and we need to understand what's the par score at a venue and I thought we did 70-80 per cent of the basics right in the batting, only a few games we let our batting collapse a little bit but we are hoping to get better,” said Rohit. Mumbai have 16 points from 13 outings and have a game left on Sunday against Kolkata Knight Riders, while Sunrisers Hyderabad are placed fourth with 12 points.
