IND vs NZ, ICC World Cup 2019, Semi-Finals 1: Rain Likely To Play Spoilsport at Old Trafford
A mild spell of rain is expected to begin from 12 pm BST (5:30 pm IST) while a burst of heavy rain is predicted for 3 pm BST (7:30 pm IST)
While the Indian cricket fans are eagerly waiting to watch the men-in-blue taking on New Zealand in World Cup 2019 semi-finals, the weather in Manchester may spoil their moods. The much-awaited clash is likely to be interrupted by rain, with light showers.
According to the British MET department, there are chances of “cloudier skies and some showery rain developing at times” on Tuesday. So far there has been no rain but the sky has been cloudy. The forecast shows that the chances of rain will increase from 8 am local time, followed by patches of rain through most of the day.
The showers will ease in the afternoon but may intensify again later. A mild spell of rain is expected to begin from 12 pm BST (5:30 pm IST) while a burst of heavy rain is predicted for 3 pm BST (7:30 pm IST). Earlier, the clash between India and New Zealand at the league phase in Nottingham was called off due to rain without a single ball being bowled. However, unlike the group stage, when the match was abandoned, the International Cricket Council has kept a reserve day for the knockout matches. So if the match cannot be completed on Tuesday, the two teams will pick up from where they left it on Wednesday. If the play cannot be completed on Wednesday as well and the match is washed out, India will qualify for the final on the basis of more points (15) than New Zealand (11) in the league stage.Dark grey clouds seen in the sky of Manchester, England where India will take on New Zealand in the first semi-final of #CWC19 , at Old Trafford today. #INDvNZ pic.twitter.com/aPuSZbT3ih
