Hindu Mahasabha Threatens To Disrupt IND vs BAN Kanpur Test Over 'Atrocities Against Hindus' In Bangladesh

IND vs BAN Kanpur Test: The Hindu Mahasbaha has threatened to protest againts the visiting team in Kanpur over violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.

India and Bangladesh are scheduled to play a Test series beginning on September 19. While the first of the two-match Test series will get underway on September 19 in Chennai, the second Test is set to begin on September 27 in Kanpur. However, even before the start of the series dark clouds seem to be looming over Bangladesh's tour of India.

Notably, the Hindu Mahasbaha has threatened to protest against the visiting team in Kanpur over violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. The situation is such that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is even mulling to change the venue of the match to Indore. Sources close to the BCCI have informed ABP Live that even though no official confirmation has been made yet, such a move could be on the card.

Notably, there has been a lot of incidents involving violence against the minorities in Bangladesh in the past few days. Several media reports have claimed atrocities being inflicted on Hindus in Bangladesh. There have been protests against the same and with Bangladesh set to tour India for a cricket series, the Hindu Mahasabha has issued a stern warning.

Earlier, Hindu Masabha had opposed the India-Bangladesh T20I match in Gwalior as well.

"Hindus are being massacred in Bangladesh…temples are being destroyed. Therefore, the Hindu Mahasabha has decided that the India-Bangladesh cricket match in Gwalior will be opposed," Mahasabha vice president Jaiveer Bharadwaj was quoted as saying by PTI in an August 14 report.

Bangladesh Can Put Up A Stern Fight Against India

As far as Bangladesh's form is concerned, they will head to India on the back of a historic 2-0 Test series win over Pakistan, their first series win over them in the longest format. Before the tour, Bangladesh had not even won a single Test match against the Shan Masood-led side but they not only won once but repeated the result twice in two Tests to complete a clean sweep.

If that is anything to go by, they could challenge India in the Test series beginning later this month.
